1. 1. In understanding foreign cultures,
someone needs to understand well the cultures to avoid cultural conflicts. But,
many people are failed to understand the values and customs of foreign
cultures. According to your own idea, please explain what do you need to have
to understand foreign cultures in order to avoid cultural conflicts. (35
points)
2. 2. How do you define your local culture is
different from foreign culture? Do you think local and foreign cultures need to
be integrated? Please provide your reason. (35 points)
3. 3. What is stereotype and prejudice? Does it
exist in your local culture? Give examples! (30 points)
Answers:
1. 1. It is better if we need to study foreign
cultures by ourselves first to avoid cultural conflicts and not being involved
in groups that are thought to create divisions.
2. 2. I will define my local culture uniquely
to many people, so that they are interested in knowing the local culture, not
to differentiate between local culture and foreign culture because it will
create conflicts between cultures.
3. 3. Stereotypes are oversimplified generalizations about groups of people. Stereotypes can be based on race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation almost any characteristic. Prejudice refers to the beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and attitudes someone holds about a group. Both streotypes and prejudice are in my local culture.
