Answer:

1. Cultural conflicts happens because there are cultural barriers. When people from different cultures who might speak different languages, have different cultural beliefs or use different gestures and symbols to communicate, their cultural differences might become barriers to workplace success. This happens because of a lack of cultural awareness, knowledge, and communication. There are some ways to overcome this cultural conflicts or barriers and embrace cultural difference:

First, if you don't know the background of the person you're talking to, use clear and polite communication because it will reduces the chances of surprises, crises, and confrontation. Or learn about different culture by asking polite questions about each other’s cultures and expressing willingness to learn about different cultural backgrounds can foster relationships. It is important to create a culture of inquiry where asking questions is encouraged! Being patient and understanding towards beliefs and norms of different cultures, speaking against discrimination at the workplace, and continuously learning about changing cultures are all an effective way to understand our culture differentiate.

2. My local culture and foreign culture are different in some ways. For example, In Indonesia, public toilets have a supply of water to clean yourself up after urinated, most people eat with their hands instead of spoons, the children "sungkem" their parents before going to school. Also, because the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim, the women here mostly wear the hijab and cover their bodies with appropriate clothes. Therefore, we can very clearly distinguish our local culture from foreign cultures from their habits or daily life. To think local and foreign cultures need to be integrated, I hope not. Because my local culture is unique and has characteristics. The combination of two cultures can cause confusion and may even lead to conflict. Therefore, the best thing we can do is to respect foreign cultures and understand them without forgetting local cultures.

3. A stereotype is a thought that someone has about specific types of individuals that may or may not accurately reflect reality. Stereotypes can also be thought of like caricatures, which are pictures that exaggerate certain features while oversimplifying others and end up distorting the essence of an individual. Many stereotypes are widely held but they are also overgeneralized images or ideas about a particular type of person. Any time we group individuals together and make a generalization or judgment about them without knowing them, this is an example of a stereotype.

A prejudice is an opinion - usually an unfavorable one - that was formed before having any evidence and that is not based on reason or experience. While a stereotype is a thought about a person or group of people, a prejudice relates to feelings and attitudes about that person or group of people. Prejudices are often rooted in the idea that certain types of people are worth less or are less capable than others.

For example, the stereotype of Minang people being stingy is wrong, because most Minang people migrate (merantau) and are far from their parents, therefore they must be able to manage finances wisely. Then the stereotype about Malay people is lazy is also wrong, it's just a stereotype made by the colonialists in the past because Malay people don't want to work for them.
