Answers:
1. Media in teaching is external media or tools that can be used to assist the teaching and learning process. the purpose of this learning media is to attract students' interest in learning. there are many types of learning media. some of them: Audio media. This media is a voice whose contents explain the material to be delivered. examples such as voice books, songs, etc, Visual media. This media displays images or videos containing materials. For example such as projectors, PowerPoint, photos, etc, Audio visual media. This media is in the form of videos that have images and sound. For example like videos, films, etc, and Internet media. This media is a combination of all media we can look for material that we can read, we can hear, and we can watch. Internet media also provides application applications that we can use in helping our teaching and learning process. for example like powtoon, google classroom, zoom, etc.
2. Teachers need media in teaching as a tool. as we know, humans will more easily remember what they saw than what they heard. The teacher can also use the media in teaching to attract students' interest by displaying funny content so that it is not too monotonous. If the teacher delivers material only by delivering explanations, students will be bored and sleepy.
3. There are several criteria that the learning media must fulfill in order to become a good learning media. that is:
- The media must be in accordance with the objectives to be achieved. The selected learning media must be able to support the learning process in achieving its goals.
- Media must be easily accessible. If the learning media used is difficult to obtain, this will make it difficult for teachers and students. Because the difficulty of obtaining the media will hinder the teaching and learning process.
- The media must be easy to understand. Learning media must be easy to understand. Because if the media is difficult to understand, the teacher will take a long time to be able to use the media. And students can also find it difficult to use the media
- Media usage is not time consuming. If the media used takes up a lot of time, it will reduce the number of lessons the school has adjusted to. And finally make students not get enough material
- Suitability of learning media with the way students think. This suitability will be able to attract students to like and enjoy the learning process. Do not let the use of learning media can actually reduce students' interest in learning.
- Media in accordance with the situation and environmental conditions. What is meant by this point is, the learning media used must be in accordance with the situation and conditions. You cannot use media that require electric power, as there are learning places where electricity is not available. Or vice versa, you cannot use sophisticated media in rural schools which incidentally lack knowledge of technology.
4. I think it is necessary. Because there will be conditions in which teachers and students will carry out the teaching and learning process using new media. for example, as is the case today. The Covid-19 pandemic requires distance learning and using the internet. if the teacher's knowledge of instructional media is limited to projectors and PowerPoint, of course it will not be useful at this time. Teachers must be able to update their abilities with internet media such as zoom. The world will continue to expand. As well as technology and knowledge.
