Give your own idea/opinion for the following points

1. What is media in teaching? How many teaching media types do you know, explain!

Answer: Media is a tool that is used to convey something or maybe interact with other people so that it is easy to understand. Teaching media is everything that is can be used to convey messages from sender to recipient so that it can stimulate the mind, feeling, attention, and students’ interests and concerns.

Teaching media that I know are:

a.       Visual Media.

Visual Media serves to transmit messages from source to recipient message. The message to be conveyed is poured into forms visual. Types of visual medias include: Images or photos, Sketches, Diagrams, Charts, Graphics, Cartoons, Poster, etc.

b.      Audio Media

Audio Media is a type of media that deals with the senses hearing. The types of audio media include: radio, recording device or tape recorder.

c.       Multimedia

Multimedia is a combination or integration of two or more integrated media formats such as text, graphics, animation and video.

 

2. Why teacher needs media in teaching?

Answer: Teacher needs media in teaching because the use of media can enhance quality, arouse new interests and desires, arouse motivation, stimulates learning activities, and even carries psychological effects towards students which in turn can improve the quality of student learning outcomes. So that with the media the learning process can run more efficiently and more fun

 

3. What are the criteria of good teaching media?

Answer: Good teaching media has several criteria, including:

a.       As a supporting means to achieve a more effective learning situations

b.      As one  of the components that are interconnected with other components in order to create an expected learning situation

c.       Accelerating the learning process

d.      Improving the quality of teaching and learning process.

e.       The learning process can be more efficient and attractive to students and teachers

 

4. Do you think that teaching media needs to be developed? Why?

Answer: In my opinion of course yes. Teaching media needs to always be developed because technology and knowledge are always developing. Besides that, the influence of conditions is also one of the bases so that the teaching media is always updated. Developing teaching media means developing the quality of teachers and students in terms of technology and creativity. Thus the quality of our education will also improve.
