2. how do you define your local culture is different from foreign culture ? do you think local and foreign cultures need to be integrated ? please provide your reasons

Answer : I think the local culture in Indonesia is reflected in the diversity of cultures and customs in society.  Ethnic groups in Indonesia, such as Javanese, Sundanese, Batak, Minang, Timorese, Balinese, Sasak, Papuan and Maluku tribes, have different customs and languages.  Each ethnic group grows and develops according to its natural environment.  Geographical isolation causes the inhabitants of each island to develop different lifestyles and customs.  For example, differences in language and customs between the Gayo-Alas ethnic group in the Gayo-Alas mountainous area and the Acehnese ethnic population who live on the coast of Aceh. Foreign culture does not necessarily mean culture originating from abroad, such as western culture.  However, it cannot be denied that western culture in the form of food, fashion, art, and science and technology has indeed influenced the culture of the people in Indonesia.  In the 20th and 21st centuries, the influence of foreign cultures in Indonesia can be seen through the occurrence of globalization symptoms.  In the process of globalization, foreign cultural elements spread rapidly through the means of technology, communication, information and transportation.

In my opinion, local and foreign cultures cannot be integrated, because local and foreign cultures are not the same frequency or incompatible.

3. What ia stereotype and prejudice ? Does it exist in your kocak culture ? Give examples

Answer : Stereotypes are judgments of a person based solely on perceptions of the group into which that person can be categorized.  For example: Stereotypes say that Jews are loan sharks, con artists.  Whereas many Jews are friendly and honest.

Prejudice is an assessment of a group or individual based primarily on group membership.  The effect of prejudice is destructive and creates large distances.  It is often said that prejudice is an attitude while discrimination is an act.  Prejudice is influenced by choices about public policy.  Prejudice has contributed to greater opposition to the activities of those who agreed. For the example , child A always gets exposure to bad comments about a tribe, he may then share bad prejudice against that tribe later.
