According to your own idea, please explain what do you need to have to understand foreign cultures in order to avoid cultural conflicts.

Answer : In my opinion, what is necessary in understanding foreign cultures to avoid cultural conflicts is to be aware, recognize, and understand cultural differences that exist are the most important things. Every culture has its own uniqueness and characteristics, different languages mean different cultures. Remove prejudice, stereotyping and ethnocentrism in ourselves and increase cultural sensitivity, be open to differences and skills in communication, and interact appropriately and appropriately.

2.      How do you define your local culture is different from foregin culture? Do you think local and foreign cultures need to be integrated? Please provide your reasons.

Answer : A foreign culture is a culture that is more modern and usually based on human behavior itself, while Indonesian culture is a culture that has grown and developed from the time of our ancestors which is usually based on customs and customs.

In my opinion, local culture and foreign culture do not need to be integrated, if it is not a problem to take some positive values from foreign cultures to be applied in daily life. But if there is a combination of cultures between local cultures and foreign cultures, it is feared that it will result in the erosion of Indonesian local culture because since the millennial era, foreign cultures have begun to penetrate and mushroom into Indonesia from music, style, and even language, which can be said to have colonized little by little Indonesian local culture. . Local art culture that should be preserved as the identity of a country or group becomes indifferent to young people, so so that local culture can be preserved from generation to generation, it is better if we love and local culture more and introduce more local culture to foreigners.

3.      What is stereotype and prejudice ? does it exist in your local culture  ? give example!

Answer : Stereotypes are judgments of a person based solely on perceptions of the group into which that person can be categorized. Stereotypes are thought shortcuts that are used intuitively by humans to simplify complex things and assist in quick decision making. Stereotypes are not always negative. However, stereotypes will always be negative if they are influenced by prejudice whereas prejudice is negative attitudes, beliefs, feelings, and judgments towards a group and all members of the group.

Of course, stereotypes and prejudices exist in the local culture of Indonesia, for example, because there is a stereotype that "Padang people are stingy", one might think that all Padang people are stingy, so they hate all Padang people and immediately think that all Padang people are stingy even though not because the desert people are really stingy, but that they may not have money or are in dire need.
