1. Give your own idea/opinions about:

a.  Culture         : Culture is a lifestyle that develops in a group or society and is passed down from generation to generation. Or a comprehensive lifestyle that is complex, abstract, and broad.

b. Interculture   : Intercultural is when we communicate with other people, we and those who become our communicants will interpret the messages received in the form of verbal and non-verbal messages with standard interpretations of their own culture.

c. Cross culture : Cross culture is a term that is often used to describe situations when a culture interacts with another culture and both of them have an influence and impact both positive and negative, as happens in every tourist activity, tourists are sure to interact and have both positive and negative impacts. to the local community.

d. Multiculture : Is a culture that emphasizes the acceptance of diversity and various kinds of culture.


2. Give one example of cultural conflict and offer the solution for its adjustment!

Answer  : One example of cultural conflict is that people on different islands mock culture or tribal traditions on other islands. And also the conflict of interest between immigrants and local residents in the transmigration area, for a solution the government overcomes it by involving local residents in development programs together with transmigrants.

3. How do you define:

a. Mosaic : It is a mixture of ethnic groups, languages and cultures that coexist in society.

b. Melting pot : is a mixture of cultures in a pluralistic society like America and Indonesia.

c. Stereotype : stereotype is a belief that applies to generalization, too easy, simple, or exaggerated about a particular category or group of people. or individual efforts to understand the social and cultural environment. For example, the positive stereotypes of Minang ethnicity are hard workers and traders, but as negative as stereotypes are stubborn and selfish.

d. Prejudice : is negative behavior that directs the group to individualism based on limitations or misinformation about the group. Prejudice can also be defined as something emotional in nature, which will easily become a motivator for social outbursts.
