1. Give your own idea/opinions about:
a. Culture
Answer: Culture is an umbrella term which encompasses the social behavior and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups.
b. Interculture
Answer: Intercultural communication is communication that occurs between people who have different cultures, whether they are racial, ethnic, or socio-economic, or a combination of these differences. Culture is a way of life that develops and is adopted by a group of people and lasts from creating generations
c. Cross culture
Answer: Cross culture is a concept that recognizes the differences among business people of different nations, backgrounds. and ethnicities, and the importance of bridging them. With globalization, cross culture education has become critically important to businesses.
d. Multiculture
Multiculture: Multicultural is a concept that recognizes and glorifies differences, individual differences or cultural differences, such as differences in values, systems, culture, habits, and politics.
2. Give one example of cultural conflict and offer the solution for its adjustment!
Answer: For example, leadership conflict.
The leaders are expected to step in and resolve the conflict, but what if the leaders themselves are at the center of the conflict? This can occur especially if an inexperienced individual is quickly promoted to the position and is not equipped with training. Environmental stress coupled with experiences and variations in style can lead to conflict. This is usually found in medium or large sized companies.
Settlement
HRD must determine how to select competent individuals to fill certain positions according to the required qualifications. The recruitment process and human resource management (HR) are very influential in this regard. If you have already, communication between managers, employees, and HRD about how to mediate and compromise on which leadership style should be used. Make sure the type of leadership style you use matches the workplace culture and company values.
3. How do you define:
a. Mosaic
Answer: Mosaic is the art of creating images by arranging small colored pieces of glass, stone, or other materials that can be used to become Mosaics. This art is a technique in the art of decoration and is also an aspect of interior decoration.
b. Melting pot
Answer: The melting pot is a metaphor for an increasingly homogeneous heterogeneous society. Different elements "merge into one" as a harmonious cultural material. This term is used to describe the assimilation of immigrants in the United States; metaphors melting into one use in the 1780s.
c. Stereotype
Answer: Stereotypes are decisions about a person based solely on perceptions of the group in which the person can be categorized or stereotypes are shortcuts to thinking that are intuitively used by humans to simplify complex things and help in making decisions
d. Prejudice
Anawer: Prejudice means making decisions before a disaster of relevant facts about the object. Initially this term referred to a sample based on a person before having relevant information on which to base production. Furthermore, prejudice is also applied to other fields besides race.
