Thesis :

Technology is a whole means to provide goods needed for the survival and comfort of human life. The use of technology by humans begins with the conversion of natural resources into simple tools.  Prehistoric discoveries about the ability to control fire have increased the availability of food sources, while the creation of wheels has helped humans in traveling and controlling their environment.  The latest technological developments, including printing presses, telephones, and the Internet, have reduced physical barriers to communication and allowed humans to interact freely on a global scale.  However, not all technology is used for peaceful purposes.  The development of increasingly powerful destructive weapons has continued throughout history from clubs to nuclear weapons
Technology has influenced people and their surroundings in many ways.  In many groups of people, technology has helped to improve the economy (including today's global economy) and has made it possible to increase leisure.  Many technological processes produce unwanted by-products called pollutants and deplete natural resources, harm and damage the Earth and its environment.  Different types of technology have influenced the value of a society and new technology often raises new ethical questions.  For example: the spread of the notion of efficiency in the context of human productivity, a term which originally only concerned machinery.  Another example is the challenge of traditional norms.

Body 1 :

At this time, we live in the age of globalization or can also be called the era of modernization.  Modernization itself in social science refers to a form of transformation from underdeveloped or under-developed conditions for the better in the hope that people's lives will be better.  Modernization covers many fields, for example in the fields of science and technology. In the modernization era like now, humans are very dependent on technology.  This makes technology a basic need for everyone.  From parents to young people, experts to ordinary people also use technology in various aspects of life.  Farmers who work in the fields also use technology to increase their yield, for example using a tractor that is faster and more efficient when compared to a plow pulled by a buffalo. Current technological developments are the basis for developing national and state life.  The progress of a country is based on how far the science and technology that is controlled by that country.  This is very reasonable because science and technology are the basis of every aspect of human life.

Body 2 :

The rapid development of information technology is indeed a lot of positive influences for humans in the world, especially in Indonesia.
Some of the positive effects of the development of information technology include:
 1. Exchange information very quickly.
 2. Facilitate human work.
 3. Work done by someone becomes more effective and efficient
 4. The learning system does not have to be face to face with the teacher because with the progress of ICT, especially the Internet we can do V-class.  And many others.
 Of the many positive influences in the development of information technology, of course, they will also have a negative impact.  The negative impact that I will discuss is the impact on Indonesian culture. That is ;
 1. The entry of foreign cultures that are not good for Indonesian children.
It means we know that the new kid is very fast to capture the information he gets, if the information has a bad influence on him, of course it is not good for himself and others.  Of course there is needed supervision from parents.
 2. Forget about time
As we know that many online games have emerged recently.  From this online game someone can forget the time when he was too cool for the game he was playing.  Like forgetting his obligation as a religious community, be it prayer, the Koran and others.
 3. Declining moral values
The decline in moral values is very likely to occur because of the development of information technology, people can quickly obtain the information they want.  For example now the internet is familiar to the ear.  From this internet someone can easily download pornographic films.  From this porn film a decline in moral values can occur among the community, especially young people and students.

Body 3 :

The development of technology in recent years is very rapid.  Communication has become easier, which used to cost a lot of money to drain pockets to communicate with people from different regions, now it can easily be done using video calls.  Sharing information is even easier with the increasingly widespread use of social media.
Although many people take advantage of this technological progress for negative things, there are also many benefits provided by this development.
 1. Cheaper communication.
In today's data age everything is becoming much cheaper.  Previously those who wanted to communicate with people far away had to use a telephone connection, now they can use cheaper Voip (voice over internet protocol).  This is because the price comparison of voice calls / sms is higher with the price of data packages provided by the provider.
 2. Get information faster.
Information dissemination is easier and faster with the internet.  The increase in online media sites, social media, chat applications is very helpful in the dissemination of information today.  Now the latest news can be published at any time, and can be accessed easily.  Coupled with social media and chat applications to help spread the news - news.  Although there are still many wrong uses for the dissemination of false information and hoaxes, there are also many positive and useful information content that we can get.
 3. Knowledge is easier to obtain.
If in the past we had to research the library and look for reference books, now it's enough to browse on the internet.  An example is Wikipedia.  This non-profit site is a site where various information is collected into a digital encyclopedia.  In addition, there are also many researchers and journalists who publish their research results and analysis online.  Even on sites like YouTube, quora, and other social media, many people share their knowledge.
 4. Creative industry opportunities that are increasingly developing.
Many of us have hidden interests and talents.  But because of the demands of life, many have to forget these interests and dreams to work in an office. With the development of technology, these interests and talents can be channeled even to make a living.  From freelance fighters to content creators, they can get money by channeling their talents through the internet.
 5. Online based shops and services.
online shop, e-commerce, online transportation lately has become a daily part of the world community.  It not only benefits the users but also opens up new jobs for the community.  In Indonesia itself, which is busy is gojek and Tokedia.  Both are digital based companies that provide benefits for all parties.  Through tokopedia fig traders can start trading without requiring substantial capital, and we can more easily get the goods we need.  Through a motorcycle taxi we can easily get transportation without having to wait at a certain place at an affordable price.  While the driver gets help finding customers and compensation for the services they provide

Conclusion :

Based on United Nation for Development Program (UNDP) data in 2013, Indonesia's technology achievement index ranks 60th out of 72 countries.  The measure is based on the creation of technology as seen from the acquisition of patents and royalties for works and technological inventions, the diffusion of current technological innovations measured by the number of internet users and the amount of contribution of technology exports to export goods, the diffusion of old technological innovations as seen from the number of telephone users and users  electricity, level
education of the population is based on the average length of school population aged 15 years and over, and the enrollment rate of the population pursuing higher education in the field of science and technology.
The low technological progress in Indonesia can be seen in Indonesia as seen from the lack of government budget for research.  Although in 2010 the Indonesian government has allocated a total of 1.9 trillion rupiah (around $ 205 million) for research and development in science and technology, it turns out that this fund is only 0.85 of gross domestic income (GDP) per year.  When compared with research funds in China which amounted to 2%, Japan which amounted to 3.4%, and South Korea 4.04% of GDP, it can be concluded that Indonesia is quite far behind.
In addition, the contribution of science and technology in the production sector in Indonesia is also still low.  This can be seen from the lack of efficiency, low productivity, and lack of technological content in export goods.  Exports of manufactured products are dominated by products with low technology by as much as 60%. Based on a number of facts that have been mentioned, it can be concluded that the development of science and technology in Indonesia is still very low even arguably lagging behind when compared to other countries.  We should continue to improve the development of science and technology to advance our country.
